Welcome to Evolving Photons a showcase of my work.
This is Evolving Photons, the documentary of a bang average amateur photographer.
My name is Justyn, based in the West. Midlands and this is a website that I have promised myself I would create 15 years ago, nothing like being quick about things. This contains the evolving photography portfolio that I have built up.
It might not be to everyone's or even anyone's taste, but as a real amateur it is my record of what I feel good looks like. Please enjoy or run away, no worries.
"It starts as fun, then you start framing, then you start considering the light and you just cannot stop the capture process wherever you go. From then on you never get any peace."
Gear through the years
I started really getting into photography when we had children as a way to record the memories with a Fuji bridge camera, it was all so simple. Then the children started to play sport and it couldn't keep up, so what to do, go get a DSLR. And that is how it always starts with a drive to get better shots, first the Canon 20D with a kit 18-55mm through to a 50D with a 70-200 f/4 and a 100-400mm Mk2  and 8000 football and rugby shots after culling.
But time moves on and change, so out with the Canon gear as it started to get heavier and I wasn't improving. I traded it all and in came Olympus.
OMDS OM-1 with PL 15mm for astro, Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 + Oly 45mm f/1.8 + Oly 75mm f/1.8 for street, 8-25mm f/4 & 12-100mm f/4 because they can do everything, 40-150mm f/2.8 & x1.4 teleconverter for rugby and the PL 100-400mm for things far away, but up close. The PL 200mm plus teleconvertors give me a specialist lens for birding.
Fuji X-T30, with 18mm f/2, TTArtisans 27mm f/2.8, 50mm f/2 and Viltrox 13mm for street.
iPhone XS for social media and food......
