about me

WhoAmI

Hi, I'm Justyn and this is a website that I have promised myself I would create 15 years ago, nothing like being quick about things.

This contains the evolving photography portfolio that I have built up, you might notice the galleries are similar just different ways of viewing my photos. It might not be to everyone's or even anyone's taste, but as a real amateur it is my record of what I feel good looks like. Please enjoy or run away, no worries.
"It starts as fun, then you start framing, then you start considering the light and you just cannot stop the capture process wherever you go. From then on you never get any peace."
My Gear (AKA Point, Shoot, Chimp)
I started really getting into photography when we had children as a way to record the memories with a Fuji bridge camera, it was all so simple. Then the children started to play sport and it couldn't keep up, so what to do, go get a DSLR. And that is how it always starts with a drive to get better shots, first the Canon 20D with a kit 18-55mm through to a 50D with a 70-200 f/4 and a 100-400mm Mk2  and 8000 football and rugby shots after culling.
But time moves on and change, so out with the Canon gear as it started to get heavier and I wasn't improving. I traded it all and in have come:
Fuji X-T1 with 35mm f/1.4 or 23mm f/2 for street and portrait, 10-24mm f/4 & 55-200mm for landscapes, Rokinon 12mm for astro and a 18-135mm for holidays in the sun.
Olympus OM-D E-M1 ii with 8mm for astro, 15mm & 25mm for street, 12-100mm f/4 because it can do everything, 40-150mm f/2.8 & x1.4 teleconverter for rugby and the 100-400mm for things far away, but up close. The PL 200mm plus teleconvertors give me a specialist lens for birding.
iPhone X for baking and food......
And the next purchase is....... I don't know yet.
